Swift To-Do List 8 Editions

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Swift To-Do List 8 comes in 3 editions - Home, Professional and Ultimate.

Home Edition

As the name suggest, this edition is most suited for hobby/personal use.

The Home edition has basic features. It lacks the features that are only in Professional (which are very useful, such as subtasks) and Ultimate editions.

Professional Edition

The Professional edition has all the features the Home edition has, and some very significant additional features:

Subtasks which help you break down complex tasks into small, easy to follow steps. This helps you reduce procrastination and make your work more enjoyable. How does one eat an elephant? One bite at a time!
Automatic archiving of done tasks to keep your lists fresh and clean. Done tasks can get archived either immediately or after a specified amount of days (or never).
Hide Until field - an incredible innovative feature. Think of it as a "mega-snooze" for your tasks: It allows you to hide tasks until a later date. With Hide Until field, your to-do list will be sustainable. You won't abandon it, as it will never become too cluttered. It will remain manageable and relevant. If you don't have to worry about something for now, why not hide it until later? Just set the Hide Until date - bam! - and it's gone, only to re-appear at the right time again.
Calendar panel below the tree which allows you to quickly see tasks due today, tomorrow, or on any other date or multiple dates. The calendar panel is collapsible so it doesn't take space when not needed, and can work in several modes: It can show you tasks with any particular Due Date, Start Date, Completion Date, Change Date or Creation Date.
Email tasks to others or to yourself. You don't even have to write anything - the email template is filled with all the relevant task information.
Send yourself Email Reminders and Email Recurrence Notifications
Set Start Date and Completion Date for your tasks.
Assign tasks using Assigned To field.
Track your progress more precisely using Percent Done field and Status field.
Use Time Estimate and Time Spent fields for instant clarity about time needed and time spent for each task.
Context field helps you to better categorize your tasks.
Time Tracker timer allows you to track time spent on your tasks. You can also use it in countdown mode to work in short bursts of time to boost your productivity and decrease resistance to certain unpleasant tasks (this is also known as Pomodoro technique).
Ability to hide/remove fields as needed for full customization
Ability to see tasks due today or tomorrow with just 1 click thanks to the interactive info panel.

You decide which fields you want to use, and which to completely hide (this is a unique feature). When a field is enabled, the program fully supports it in all places, and when it is disabled, its support is fully hidden in all places, so it doesn't clutter the program interface. Swift To-Do List 8 Professional is extremely flexible, and it can be as complex or simple as you need it to be at that particular time.

Ultimate Edition

The Ultimate edition has all the features of the Professional edition (including all the Home features, of course), and some extra. It is for successful people who are serious about their organizing and productivity and want the best possible tool available.

The Ultimate-only features, compared to Professional, include:

Rename the existing columns/fields for ultimate customization. You can change Start Date to Shipment Date, or Context to Client, or Priority to Value - anything you want!
100 extra tree icons not available in any other edition. (There is 244 tree icons total in Ultimate.)
Two-line displaying of tasks with long task names (So tasks that have long names will be shown on 2 lines, instead of being truncated with an ellipsis.)
Numbered to-do lists and lists. You can easily make any of your to-do lists (or lists) automatically numbered. The numbers are displayed in front of task names, and show the row numbers. Multi-level numbering is supported for subtasks (e.g. first subtask of the second task will have number 2.1.)
Spellchecker for notes/memos
Multi-level lists (outlines) in notes/memos
Other exclusive Ultimate-only features that will be added in the future.
