Note: If you have purchased Swift To-do List 7, please refer to the Upgrading from Swift To-Do List 7 guide instead.

If you are upgrading from Swift To-Do List 6, this guide will help you to migrate smoothly. You will discover that upgrading is really simple!

First of all, please purchase the upgrade to Swift To-Do List 8 if you have not already purchased Swift To-Do List 8. (If you have purchased Swift To-Do List 7, 6, or an even older version in the past, you can receive a discount when upgrading.)

We recommend uninstalling Swift To-Do List 6 before installing Swift To-Do List 8, but the upgrade will work even if you do not uninstall it. Make sure that you click "No" when the uninstaller asks you if you want to remove the settings file.

You do not need to have Swift To-Do List 6 installed in order to migrate to Swift To-Do List 8. All you need is your database file (with the .stdl extension).

The migration is usually fully automatic and your database and settings will be imported automatically. However, just in case, we are providing you with a guide that will ensure your smooth migration to Swift To-Do List 8:

How to migrate to Swift To-Do List 8 from Swift To-do List 6

1.Fully exit Swift To-Do List 6 if it is running using File - Exit, or by right-clicking it's notification area icon and selecting Exit.

2.Uninstall Swift To-Do List 6 (Note: You do not have to do this, but we recommend it). The uninstallation program will ask you: "Do you want to remove settings file?" - choose "No".

3.Download and install Swift To-Do List 8.

4.Start Swift To-Do List 8.

5.The program will import your Swift To-Do List 6 settings automatically.

6.Now all you have to do is to open your Swift To-Do List 6 database file (with .stdl extension), unless it is already automatically opened.

7.When you open a Swift To-Do List 6 database (eg. using File - Open - Browse...), it will be automatically converted to Swift To-Do List 8 format. Then, you will be asked if you want to make it default - choose "Yes".

8.That's it! You are done. Good job, welcome to Swift To-Do List 8!
