Swift To-Do List 8 is fully portable and can be carried along with all your tasks and settings on a portable USB stick.
Please note that you do not need admin rights in order to install Swift To-Do List 8! So if your main motivation to use the USB version is that you don't have admin rights on some computer, you might want just go ahead and install Swift To-Do List 8 on that computer.
The feature to use it from USB flash drive is the only feature not available in the free 30-day trial - it is available only in the full version.
Deploying to USB will not affect the installed program in any way.
You can deploy to any folder, not just on a USB flash-drive.
How to deploy Swift To-Do List to USB flash-drive
| 1. | Plug your USB flash drive into your computer |
| 2. | Start Swift To-Do List 8 and use File - Deploy to USB Flash Drive |
| 3. | Select your USB flash drive in the opened dialog and click OK |
Swift To-Do List 8 will be copied to your flash drive along with your current database and settings.
How to copy database back from USB flash-drive to your PC
1. Exit Swift To-Do List 8 using File - Exit if it's running
2. Plug your USB flash drive into your computer
3. Copy your database file (with .stdl extension) from your flash drive back to your computer using Windows Explorer or other file manager.
(Alternative step 3: Start Swift To-Do List 8 from your USB flash drive, and use File - Copy (Backup) Database to copy the database back to your computer, then exit it.)
4. Unplug your USB flash drive (optional)
5. Start Swift To-Do List on your computer and open the database you've just copied to your computer file using File - Open - Browse (Ctrl + O)
How to update Swift To-Do List 8 already deployed on your USB flash-drive

| 2. | Plug your USB flash drive into your computer |
| 3. | Use File - Deploy to USB Flash Drive in Swift To-Do List 8 |
| 4. | Select your USB flash drive in the opened dialog and click OK |
| 5. | You will be asked if you want to overwrite your settings - select Yes |
| 6. | You will be asked if you want to overwrite your database - select Yes |
| ► | If you want to just install a new version of Swift To-Do List 8 to your USB flash drive and NOT overwrite your database or settings: |
| 1. | Start Swift To-Do List 8 on your PC if it's not already running |
| 2. | Plug your USB flash drive into your computer |
| 3. | Use File - Deploy to USB Flash Drive in Swift To-Do List 8 |
| 4. | Select your USB flash drive in the opened dialog and click OK |
| 5. | You will be asked if you want to overwrite your settings - select No |
| 6. | You will be asked if you want to overwrite your database - select No |
