Swift To-Do List 8 has flexible import feature that allows you to import data in various formats from many programs. You can import comma separated values (CSV), tab separated values (TSV), text files (TXT), and many other formats.
Swift To-Do List 8 additionally supports fully automatic import from some software (without the need to export the data to CSV or TXT first). This includes import from Task Coach and import from most of our older software (Daily To-Do List, Power To-Do List, older versions of Swift To-Do List, etc).
To import tasks from any program:
1. | Open that particular program |
2. | Export your data to a CSV/TSV/TXT file from that program |
3. | Open Swift To-Do List 8 and use File - Import Wizard to import the CSV/TSV/TXT file |
The import is very flexible. You can import multiple files into the same database. The Import Wizard allows you to customize the mapping of the imported fields to Swift To-Do List 8 fields, and select where the newly imported tasks should be placed (new to-do lists can be created, too).
You can import data (tasks) from many different programs, because many programs support export to CSV. Even if some program doesn't have export to CSV, if you can synchronize it with Outlook, you can still import the data into Swift To-Do List 8 from Outlook.
We have prepared step-by-step guides for importing from some programs for you. You can import data from the following programs and many others:
► | Excel (also works for OpenOffice Calc) |
► | Many others |
You can also import tasks from many web-based organizers, as long as they support export to CSV. For example:
► | Swift To-Do List Online (Our web-based task organizer. Not to be mistaken with our Swift.me companion web-app.) |
► | Many others |
