Keep List Of Things
Why is it important to keep a list of the things that you do not want to forget?
It’s no secret that writing things down is one of the most effective ways to either jog your memory or to keep you on track with goal targeting, but just how effective is this method? Keeping a detailed list of the things that you would like to do as well as the things that you simply cannot afford to forget is the equivalent of having your very own Personal Assistant working for you 24/7/365 for 100% free.
It’s one of the best ways to increase your productivity and enhance your core organizational skills. In fact when one thinks of keeping a list of the things they want to accomplish in life the five ‘Ps’ (Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance) is the very first thought that comes to mind.
Life is filled with all types of speed bumps and bends in the road that sometimes make it virtually impossible to remember important things or to keep on track of major goals that we are striving to accomplish. To combat this, keeping a list is one of the best ways to help us to channel our efforts to a point where we can realistically achieve our goals and aspirations.
Even further we all must face the fact that the older we get the more our memory is likely to fail us. We may start off by forgetting a few small things that affect our lives minimally but eventually if we do not take a few necessary precautions, like keeping a list of tasks, those small things can quickly turn into very important things that directly affect life as we know it.
That being said we ultimately have the choice to live in clutter/chaos or to get organized and live a happier more productive life. Keeping a list of what you want can also be used as an excellent source of drive that you can tap into whenever you need it.
What do I mean by this exactly? Well let’s say that you were saving up for a new home and you were looking to not only buy this home, but also fully furnish it and pay the taxes up for the next three years. Attempting to accomplish this by relying on memory alone increases the chances of you neglecting a pertinent detail that could quickly turn home owning dreams into a nightmare.
Inversely keeping a list of how much you will need for the down payment, the amount you will have to have to put up three years of tax escrows and the total of all your home furnishings is the best way to insure that you completely cover all the bases.
In closing keeping a list has great value in terms of keeping a person highly organized and on target with their goals in life.
